Spring is coming…

Spring is coming

Snow, Sun, Spring!!

Spring is coming!

We see it in our yards with the snow melting. We hear the songs of birds in the morning. We smell the earth thawing and readying itself for growth.

Spring is also a time when folks begin to think of  thier next house or if they should improve the property they are in.

Fair questions that do not have a simple answer.

Interest rates remain at historical lows which can be advantageous for buying a house or refinancing to make home improvements.

For the most current trends that are going on in your neighbor hood contact us at ZillaState and we will be more than happy to discuss what is happening to home prices in Missoula and western Montana.

Have a great early Spring!

February in Missoula

All Posts No Comments

The beginning of February… the groundhog has come out to make his prediction.  Here in Montana the yellow bellied Marmot has made a more localized prediction of how much longer winter will last.

February in Missoula is also the beginning of the local Telemark Race Series held at Snowbowl every year. ZillaState is a sponsor of this event and has been for several years. The event is about folks in the community getting together to socialize and ski! The Telemark series is run by a dedicated group of volunteers out of  love for the sport of Telemark skiing. The spirit of community is strong as everyone lends a hand to get things done to make the races happen.

The Telemark Challenge is celebrating it’s 27th year and is the second oldest Telemark Series in the nation. The longevity of this event along with the good natured fun that takes place each week is yet another reason why we call Missoula home!

Check out this video from a few years back that shows the dedication of the board members and volunteers:

ZillaState and how we got our name.

Over a decade ago when I moved to Missoula; I spent my first summer as a camp counselor at the Missoula YMCA.  Each camp day ended with swimming at the Y’s pool. In the pool I would get about 3 kids on each of my arms and spin around in the water. If campers wanted to get “launched” I would toss them up in the air so they would land with a big splash. I mentioned that I was like Godzilla in the movies and one of the campers said, “You’re Jedzilla!!” since my first name is Jed. Well, within about a week most of the folks I knew in Missoula were calling me “Jedzilla” so I kept the new nickname. Read more
